Let’s Do The Work Together!

Hi, I’m Christine Dyan Thomson, RDN, LDN – The Money Mindset Dietitian!

I’m so happy you’re here to be a part of this very important work. smile

As a registered dietitian, you already know that you’re a very important part of the healthcare team.

And you’ve likely already done work in your local community.

But what happens when you go outside of your community and into communities of color, specifically African Americans? Do you feel prepared?

If you’re a non-black RD, the answer is most likely NO.

Due to the current state of our country, with racial tension being at an all-time high, it’s time for us to get educated and prepared for the changes that are occurring right before our eyes.

The Cultural Diversity Book Club will help you do all of that & MORE!

“Me and White Supremacy” by Layla Saad

Every 2-weeks, we’ll meet via Zoom to review chapters & gain new insights

We’re reading 2-3 books (July-Nov)

By the end of the year, you’ll have made significant progress in this difficult work than if you were trying to wing it on your own.

What if I can’t keep up with the pace of the program?

No worries! This is NOT a race to an imaginary finish line and you’re never behind. Read at your own pace, trust that you’ve received exactly what you were supposed to, and come to the mastermind call to receive continued insights and support.

What book titles are scheduled for the Book Club?

Here are the books I’ve chosen for us to read between July 1st – November 18th 2020:

Me and White Supremacy, by Layla Saad – July

White Fragility: Why it’s so hard for white people to talk about racism , by Robin DeAngelo – August/Sept

How to Be An AntiRacist, by Ibram X. Kendi – Oct/Nov

What if I can’t access the books in time for the meetings?

If you cannot get access to the physical books (because most are on backorder) you can purchase the Kindle version or the audibook version until the physical book becomes available. Also note: All Zoom book club meetings will be recorded.

When do we start?

Enrollment is open now until June 30th. Your ‘Intro Video’ and initial reading assignment will be sent to you on July 1st. Our first official meeting is on Wednesday, July 15th at 2:30pm. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for every other Wednesday at 2:30pm EST.

Complete Book Club meeting details, including dates/time/Zoom room links, and reading schedule will be sent to you via email upon enrollment.

Will there be CEU credits offered for each book?

Yes! The Club is pending approval for 15 CEU’s. You’ll be notified once approval is confirmed.
